USF SUNDOLLS:
There will be 20-24 girls chosen to be members of the SunDolls dance team. Chosen members will perform home football and basketball games. In the fall, a nationals team made up of 14 dancers will be selected to be the competition team.
Scholarship-
All team members will receive a scholarship. Scholarships range from $300 to $1000 annually.
Competition-Sun Dolls
The SunDolls participate in the Universal Dance Association National Competition that is held in Orlando, Florida every January. We are a Division 1A team competing in the Jazz and Hip Hop categories.
Practices-
Practice schedule is as follows: Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7-10 pm and alternating Sundays during nationals season. In the Spring, the team practices on Tuesday evenings only. Regular practice begins after camp in August.
Camp/Travel/Money obligations-
The SunDolls will be traveling this summer to a UDA College Camp in July. All members selected are required to attend and pay or fundraise for the camp fee. Meals are included in camp.
The team does not travel to most away games. However, if the football team does invite the team to travel, we will. Also, if the team is invited to a bowl game, some team members may travel. There are no expenses involved in the trip.
UDA Nationals is in January in Orlando, Florida. Each girl is responsible for their meals.
The last trip we may take is in March to the BIG EAST men’s basketball tournament in New York City. All expenses are paid for.
